Expected JKTET Exam Pattern 2026

Although JKBOSE has not yet released the official JKTET notification, education experts expect the examination pattern to remain largely similar to the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The JKTET is expected to consist of two separate papers depending on the classes a candidate wishes to teach.

  • Paper-I will be for candidates intending to teach Classes I to V (Primary Level).
  • Paper-II will be for candidates intending to teach Classes VI to VIII (Upper Primary Level).
  • Candidates who wish to become eligible for Classes I to VIII may have to appear in both papers.

Like CTET, both papers are expected to consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying one mark each. No negative marking is expected.

Once the official JKTET syllabus is notified by JKBOSE, only minor changes, if any, are expected.
